Ingredients&Technology
Finest Pigments has been formulated using natural pigments with powerful antioxidant abilities that enhance and maintain colour reflects and protect the structure of the hair.
Natural pigment ingredients
Peruvian Britannia berries are rich in tannins, enhancing dark reflects and contributing their preserving ability to slow down colour deterioration.
Giesta flowers are rich in carotenoids and flavonoids, adding luminosity and shine to the hair. When combined with Ratannia and Indian Walnut, this ingredient enhances and intensifies darker reflects.
Indian Walnut contains a number of properties that are beneficial to coloured hair - tannins enhance dark reflects, inositol sugar has a moisturising effect, and the high lipid content is antioxidant and protective.
Lycopene is a red phytopigment extracted from tomatoes and a powerful antioxidant, protecting hair against sun damage and regenerating its natural hydrolipid barrier. This intensifies the hair’s original colour and, when combined with Ratannia, enhances copper and red reflects.
Ginger is yellow in colour because it contains curcumin, which, when combined with saffron, enhances golden reflects. It is also a strong antioxidant and rich in polysaccharides, which carry out an important function in protecting the hair.
Saffron gets its name from the Arab word zafran, which means “to be yellow”. It is widely used as a pigment, enhancing golden reflects in the hair as well as providing a strong antioxidant effect thanks to the terpenes and carotenoids it contains.
More natural ingredients
Cellulose obtained from plant cells provides conditioning agents and gives the Finest Pigments line its consistency.
Rice bran provides phytic acid, a natural chelator that binds heavy metal ions so they can’t alter colour results.
Rose oil is where the Finest Pigments line gets its scent. It also provides the glossing effect thanks to its high refraction index.

Sustainability
Finest Pigments has been formulated using 85-93% natural origin ingredients*. As well as this, the bottles are made from 98% post-consumer recycled plastic, and all materials used for the packaging are fully recyclable.
*In Davines, an ingredient is defined of natural origin when 100% of its molecular structure is of natural origin, without any synthetic portion. This criteria is different and more restrictive than the one commonly used by other brands.
Didyouknow?
While oxidizing colours should be applied to unwashed hair, Finest Pigments should be applied to clean, dry hair. That’s because oxidizing colours work by penetrating the hair’s cortex, whereas Finest Pigments deposits the colour onto the hair surface. Any styling residue or dirt on the hair can stop the product adhering to the hair’s surface, leading to dull, less intense colour that won’t last as well.
No, it is not necessary to shampoo your client’s hair after using Finest Pigments. The formulations contain a natural origin surface-active agent, which helps to remove the colour. After processing, simply add a little water and emulsify well to obtain maximum cleansing of the hair and scalp, and then rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.
Although the conditioning agents found in Finest Pigments and Finest Gloss mean conditioning isn’t essential, if hair is thick, porous or sensitised, using a dedicated conditioner could be advisable.
Yes, Finest Pigments can be used alongside many services, including immediately after other chemical services such as perms or chemical straightening.
Finest Pigments is a professional semi permanent acidic colour with a longevity up to 10 shampoos, while Alchemic is a system of coloured shampoos and conditioners which offers bright temporary colour, perfect to mantain cosmetically coloured hair.
Yes, they can. If hair needs to be shampooed before colour application, simply choose an Alchemic Shampoo closest to the chosen nuance.
