Our Balance system is free of ammonia and instead features salt from thioglycolic acid, called Ammonium thioglycolate. This leads to a more potent and effective curling process. The formula has a slightly more alkaline pH of approximately 9.5.

The main active ingredient in Bouclé’s formula is a cysteine derivative, keratin-affine called Cysteamine. It’s milder and offers a more gentle waving action—perfect for fine hair or strands that have existing damage. The pH of the Bouclé Biowaving System sits around 8, making it slightly less alkaline.

Balance
and
Bouclé
systems
have
a
seven-step
approach.
The following guide explains how the process works:
Shampoo: Wash your client’s hair with a Davines shampoo that works best for their hair type.
Lotion: Wrap the hair in curlers, then use either the Balance or Bouclé system, depending on the style of curl or wave they’ve chosen. Then, select lotion #1 or #2, catering to your client’s specific hair type.
Process: Leave the lotion on your client’s hair and check the progress every four to five minutes. You can leave the Balance system on their hair for up to 20 minutes and the Bouclé system for up to 25 minutes.
Rinse: Rinse the hair thoroughly, but do not remove the curlers.
Neutralise: With the curlers still in, apply the neutraliser. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Reapply the neutraliser once more and leave it for another 10 minutes.
Rinse: Remove the curlers, then rinse the hair thoroughly.
Condition: Finish the process with a conditioner that’s most suitable for your client’s hair type.

During Balance & Bouclé services
Prior to starting either treatment, we encourage using SOLU Shampoo to deeply cleanse the hair and scalp, removing oil, build-up and residue. It features antioxidant-rich Valnerina Buckwheat extract and amino acids to create a clean slate.
For hair that needs a slightly gentler approach, the Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo is the perfect starting point. Full of vegetal keratin, it cleanses and hydrates all at once.

In-Between Treatments
There are numerous opportunities to support your clients’ hair journeys during visits between their Balance and Bouclé treatments. Our Naturaltech Nourishing Reconstructing Treatment is ideal for supporting and providing extra nourishment for processed hair. This line contains our proprietary biacidic bond complex that’s capable of both repairing existing damage and protecting hair from future harm.
Use the Nourishing Shampoo to gently cleanse, then the Naturaltech Nourishing Keratin Wonder Superactive to boost reparative actions. This, followed by the Nourishing Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner or Vegetarian Miracle Mask, replenishes nutrients and revives keratin bonds for stronger hair.
