Step 01: Section the hair into four parts using a curve shape and making sure there is a smooth transition between the sections. Pro tip: Subdividing each section into smaller sections will make it easier to work with. 

Step 02: Working in the front section apply Formula A to the lengths and ends, and apply Formula B to the regrowth. Make sure the product is saturated well. 

Step 03: On the next section apply Formula C starting from the lengths and ends and then moving to the regrowth. 

Step 04: Work on the nape section next, applying Formula D from the regrowth to the ends. 

Step 05: Finally, move to the last section, the occipital bone, and apply Formula E from the regrowth to the ends. 

Step 06: After 20 minutes development time, rinse then shampoo with Essential Haircare MINU/ Shampoo and condition with Essential Haircare MINU/ Conditioner. For home care, recommend OI Shampoo, OI Butter, and OI All In One Milk. 

Step 01: Apply More Inside Curl Building Serum to add moisture to the curls. Dry naturally using a hairdryer and your hands. 

Step 02: Go through the hair in horizontal sections, first using your fingers to separate the hair and following up with a hair pick comb. Beginning at the ends, work towards the root, loosening the hair into its expanded form. Use fine sections and a gentle approach to avoid damage to the hair. 

Step 03: Starting at the occipital bone and using a pair of clippers, begin working down towards the nape of the neck, sculpting the desired shape. Pro tip: Angle the clippers so that the flat part of the blade is parallel to the head. 

Step 04: Continue working around to the sides, building the shape up from the inside out as you go. Remember that the angle of the flat part of the clipper blade will dictate the angle of the shape. 

Step 05: When the shape has been created through the back and sides, begin sculpting the top shape, starting shorter at the crop and becoming longer towards the front. 

Step 06: Having created the overall shape, stand back and assess it, then use a razor to refine and sharpen the outline. Pro tip: Use a hair pick comb to expand any uneven areas of texture 

Step 07: Using More Inside Shimmering Mist and a hairdryer spray through the front fringe area to add sharpness and shine to the silhouette. 

Step 08: Finish by further refining the outline with scissors. 

Step 01: Section the head into four quadrants. Working with the front and side sections, separate the hair from the hairline to behind the ears, using zig zag parting, then clip the front sections. 

Step 02: Apply Formula A to the regrowth areas only, starting on the remaining back quadrants before moving towards the front. Pro tip: Leave the zig zag sections non-coloured. 

Step 03: Starting at the nape of the neck, create deep V-shaped sections and apply Formula B to the mid-lengths and Formula C to the ends. 

Step 04: Now create another V-shaped section and flip the formulas, applying Formula C to the mid-lengths and Formula B to the ends. Pro tip: Use aluminium foils to isolate. 

Step 05: Continue the application to the mid-lengths and ends, flipping between Formulas B and C, creating V-shaped sections of hair for a seamless blend of colour. 

Step 06: Move to the front zig zag section and apply Formula A to the front regrowth area, and Formula D to the mid-lengths and ends. 

Step 07: After 20 minutes development time, rinse and shampoo with Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo and condition with Naturaltech Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner, both of which can be recommended for home care. 

This cut is one that is guided by feeling as much as technique, using instinct to understand the areas of the head which need more weight removal and how the hair will react to that. 

Step 01: Start by applying More Inside Primer and pre-blow drying the hair straight. 

Step 02: Beginning with a small triangular section at the centre front, elevate the hair and vertically point to your desired length. 

Step 03: Continue through the front hairline, elevating sections and continuing your point cut line. Work back in parallel sections behind the ear, over directing the hair towards the face and following your original guide. 

Step 04: Once your perimeter outline has been cut, work through the mid-lengths and ends using a slicing technique to remove weight. Repeat on both sides. 

Step 05: Now begin working through the back from the nape up towards the crown in slightly diagonal sections, using the same deep point cutting technique to remove weight. If you would like to remove more hair, switch to a slicing technique. 

Step 06: Use a hairdryer to blast through the shape and remove loose hairs before applying More Inside Shimmering Mist to add definition and shine. Finish with More Inside Invisible Serum for even more definition and separation at the ends of the hair. 

Throughout the colouring process, use foils to isolate the hair and the Davines Colour Blending Brush to apply the colour. You can also tone with Formula B if needed.  

 Step 01: Start by identifying the face shape. Look at the cheekbones, brow bones, and centre of the client's chin. These are the high points that will help you with the colour placement. 

Step 02: Divide the hair into manageable sections, securing them using clips. This allows for better control and highlight placement. 

Step 03: Apply Formula A only to the areas you have identified. Apply the pre-lightener to each section's top and bottom edges then thoroughly saturate the middle of the section. Pro tip: Use foils to isolate the hair, and make sure that sections are thin enough to saturate the product well. 

Step 04: Lift until you achieve a pale yellow then rinse thoroughly and shampoo with Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo. Thoroughly towel dry the hair. 

Step 05: If needed, tone with Formula B to neutralise yellow tones, especially on areas that will have Formula D (blue). Develop for up to 20 minutes, then rinse, shampoo with Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo and dry. 

Step 06: Apply Formulas C, D, and E to the designated sections, using aluminium foil to separate. Use the Davines Colour Blending Brush and make sure to saturate the hair well. Pro tip: Depending on the desired final look, you might need different formulas in different sections 

Step 07: After 20 minutes development time, rinse and shampoo with Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo and condition with Naturaltech Tailoring Radiance Base and Controlling Booster. Recommend OI Shampoo and OI Conditioner for home care. 

Step 01: Beginning with wet hair, create a centre parting. 

Step 02: Apply More Inside Oil Non Oil through the whole head. 

Step 03: Use a wide tooth comb followed by a finer one to disperse the product and create a flat, smooth wave that contracts and curls to create a beautiful living palette canvas.
